BOSTON, MA. – Priest Ordination

BOSTON, MA. November 7, 2016 – The Coptic Orthodox Diocese of New York & New England is pleased to announce the ordination of Michael Arteen to the priesthood. Born in Cairo in 1977, Michael graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts in Engineering from Helwan University in 2001. In addition to these studies, Michael attended the School of Theological Studies in Cairo for one year. Having spent nine years working with HG Bishop Raphael in youth ministry, Michael was assigned as a consecrated servant in 2004 by H.H. the late Pope Shenouda III to serve St. Mark Coptic Orthodox church in Natick, MA. He married Maggie Nakhla in May 2015. Michael will be ordained as a full Deacon on November 9, 2016 at The Lady of Zeitoun Coptic Orthodox Church located at 500 Todt Hill Rd., Staten Island, NY 10304 and will be ordained to the priesthood on November 20, 2016 at Saint Mark Coptic Church located at 145 Oak St., Natick, MA 01760 by the hand of His Grace Bishop David. Michael will be serving the congregation of Saint Mark Coptic Orthodox Church. We pray that the Lord grant Michael wisdom, love, and peace as he begins his new service.
